We
are told that there is a fourth quality of Deity that will be
revealed
which lies
behind those of will, love and activity.

I have
speculated on this quality as 'the peace which passeth
understanding' -
originating from the cosmic buddhic
plane
and residing in
the heart of every atom
To follow these
analogies it is important to think of the 'fourth' as a generic term
which refers to that energy which works through the
synthetic
functioning of any threefold system.
For example the
soul is a 'fourth' in that it works through the three
personality
vehicles. The monad is a 'fourth' as it works through the
triad.
And so
on.
Behind Will and
synthesis and fixed determination lies the principle of 'freedom'. Sanat Kumara became the Great Sacrifice out of his free
choice,thus confining himself
to the three lower cosmic planes and to service upon Earth. Of course
this implies that He did not 'have to choose' such a path and that He was
in fact 'free' of the compulsion to incarnate in the three worlds under the
Sirian Law of Karma. That it was inherent in His
nature to do so does not
detract from the freedom of His choice.
This is why we
are told that 'sacrifice' should be seen as a 'taking over'
rather
than a 'giving up'. We 'give up' when we are identified in the three
worlds
in order to gain a 'release'. We 'take over' when we are outside the
three
worlds but freely choosing to limit ourselves within
them.
In the first
case we are trying to obtain 'liberation'. In the second we
are
demonstrating
our 'freedom'.
This is a
pivotal point for me in the exploration of the principle
of
freedom. How can
we ever become 'free' unless we already are 'free'?
Freedom
must be innate
within the human spirit and therefore only needs to be
uncovered or
'revealed' rather than gained.
When we attain
to the state of monad we must discover that the purpose
of
our monadic
existence was 'freely' taken. Therefore, while our
lesser
consciousness,
as soul or personality is limited to functioning within
the
seven, or five
or three worlds, OUR ESSENTIAL NATURE, - OUR MONADIC
ESSENCE
must experience
no such limitation. How, for example could we ever walk
one
of the Cosmic
Paths unless we had already walked it in the other
direction?
We don't 'become
free' but merely return in identity to that part of
ourselves which
has never incarnated, never been limited , never
been
seperated from the One
Life.
As the monad, we
have sentenced ourselves just as SK has done. It is
only
the rebellion of
our lesser self to this decision that our greater self
has
made
that
keeps our
consciousness limited. When we remember that we have chosen
then
we are released
in order to choose again.
Under this Law
of Sacrifice, Sanat Kumara (to express the idea in
occult
terms) "must
turn His back upon the Central Spiritual Sun, and with
the
light of His
Countenance irradiate the path of the prisoners of the
planet."
He sentences
Himself to stay for as long as may be needed, "acting as
the
Sun and light of
the planet until the Day be with us and the night of
pralaya descends upon
His finished task." Thus and only thus can the light
of the Central
Spiritual Sun begin to penetrate the dark places of the
Earth; when this
happens all "shadows disappear"—an occult reference to
the
all-embracing
radiance of the Monad as it absorbs both its
reflection, the
soul, and its
shadow, the personality. DINA II 287
SK 'turns his
back' upon the Central Spiritual Sun in order to allow
the
light of this
Sun to reach earth. The Central Spiritual Sun can refer to
the
monad of the
Solar Logos and the 'light' of the CSS is the cosmic
'light
supernal' from
the cosmic atmic plane.
We are told
that, at the third degree the initiate proclaims, as Venus
in
Capricorn, "Lost
am I in light supernal, and on that Light I turn my
back".
We also know
that light supernal relates to the atmic plane ( Dina 2 370 ).
At the third
degree, atma pours through the sacrifice petals and
from then
to the etheric base centre via the crown. Kundalini is aroused and the
fusion of triad
and personality takes place allowing the monad to utilise
its fused
instrument.
On cosmic
levels, the Solar Logos is undergoing the third cosmic intitiation
and thus trying
to ground on the etheric physical plane, light
supernal from
the cosmic atmic plane.
We know that
Sanat Kumara is a direct disciple of the Solar Logos.
Is it not
possible that He
is therefore the representative on Solar Will ( atma ) upon
the
physical/etheric plane?
Further, if
Earth served as the base chakra within the Solar
sphere then
would not the
coming of SK and the founding of the Hierarchy not
represent
the beginning of
the awakening of kundalini in the Solar system.
Initiation
would therefore
be the release of human monads from their long self
imposed
imprisonment
back to their source in the sun.
A question
arises: If SK is a direct disciple of the Solar Logos and yet
is
also
overshadowed by the Planetary Logos then how are we to understand
His
functioning.
Perhaps the
analogy is similar to that entity ensouling the crown
chakra of
a human being -
this centre can be used for transmitting the will of
the
individual soul
or of the ashram or of a Heavenly man.
The Monad is the
source of light, not only to the human family, but it
is
the receiver of
light from the threefold Sun; it is the lens through
which
the light of the
solar Logos can flow to the planetary Logos, preserving
and
holding steady
in that light the vision, the purpose, the will and the
creative
intention of the planetary Logos.
Dina 2
400
In a sense then,
the monad, like SK is dual, having a relationship both
to
the Planetary
Logos and to the Solar Logos. We know that the centres
of a
Heavenly Man are
made up of human and deva monads. Perhaps the human
monad
is planetary and
the deva monad, solar. Their fusion unifies planetary
and
solar will
allowing the fusion of the the Solar triad and the
Solar
personality.
This may be a
higher correspondence to the way buddhi and manas ,
mercury
and venus are related to the two eyes in man. Their united
functioning
produces the
third eye which can be used as an agent of vision and light
for
both the
personality and the soul. The monad is equivalent to the third
eye
for the
Planetary Logos. When the human and deva 'wills' are
functioning in
unison this
'eye' can be used by both the Planetary or the Solar
logos
depending upon
the degree of soul infusion.
Thus, each of us
as a monad is a cell in one of the Heavenly men and yet
we
are also, similtaneously a cell in the Solar Logos. When we realise (
or
remember ) our
higher solar identity en mass then the planet becomes
'solarised' or sacred.
We know that the
purpose of our Planetary Logos is to anchor a 'germ of
Solar Will'.
When referring to this DK uses Sanat Kumara and the
Planetary
Logos in the
same sentence.
a planetary Logos
has likewise—under the Law of Synthesis—to carry forward
a
specific project
in line with the will of the Solar Logos. This
our
planetary Logos,
Sanat Kumara, is in process of doing, providing a
definite
culture wherein
the germ of the solar will can be fostered in one of
its
aspects R
& I 657
In terms of
practical application we might ask - How can we develop
our
capacity to
participate in this Solar process? How can we help cultivate
the
'culture of
freedom' on this planet?
First, humanity
must set up a direct reflexive response to the energy of
Shamballa. We know that
it is this portion of the triangle ( R & I 160
)
which needs to
be operating in order for the fourth quality of deity to
be
revealed. We
must learn to understand and freely cooperate with the Will
of
the Planetary
Logos. Doing this requires that we 'remember' the choice
that
we already
made.
There is no real
freedom obtained by limiting our identity and then
having
that limited
identity rebel against the choices of our greater Self.
This
way leads to
unconscious evolution.
We might
speculate upon a more positive rebellion however that utilises the
very
characteristic of monads that make up the earth scheme.
Once there has
been alignment with the planetary Will, this Will might
be
resisted in the
direction of a greater Will, the Solar Will.
The human unit
would now be resisting the Will of it's planetary lord
in
favour of the solar
lord. This would not need to be a constant resistance
but only an
occasional one as predominantly these Wills are
aligned. The
planetary Logos
is taking the second cosmic initiation however as so is
not
entirely free
from the control of His desire body.
Thus there might
be times when the higher way for the human monad would
be
to resist the
flow of energy activating it from the cosmic astral plane
and
to obey instead
the energy of cosmic buddhi reaching it through the love
petals of the
Solar Egoic lotus.
In a way this is
both a traiterous and yet liberating thought. If
our
planetary
evolution was slowed down through 'willfulness and
rebellion'
could it not be
speeded up in the same way? Can monadic karma too be
resisted?
This then leads
to resistance to the apparent karmic necessity and this
brings about
liberation. Only through resistance to evil (and in this
world
period and in
this kali-yuga, as the Eastern teachers call it, it is
an
essential basic
attitude) can karma be brought to an end. EA 444
Perhaps this
type of resistance is not the shrinking from taking the cup
of
karma, but
rather, asking for a bigger helping.
Perhaps it is
also this type of rebellion that lead Sanat Kumara
into taking
responsibility
for a non sacred planet in order to prove His capacity
to bring
redemptive solar LIFE.
Perhaps the best
thing to do with the rebels in our society then, would
be
to offer them
the possibility of taking on dangerous missions on behalf
of
the collective.
Perhaps they are just bored and rebel while they are
waiting
for a worthwhile
challenge to take up. Perhaps this is earth in the
solar
system.
Perhaps this is
kundalini power , coiled up
like a sleeping serpent awaiting
the lightning
bolt of Uranus to awaken
it.
