The Will of God

Third Initiation

“Lead us from the individual to the Universal”

Sun     Black     Antahkarana

The first premise is that the Antahkarana is at the apex of the triangle, the bridge between Sun and Black, between Black and Sun, because if there is a pathway, a mediator, then it is a dual direction pathway, dual in direction and dual because a pathway in itself denotes a pair of opposites, dualism.…and dualism must ultimately remember Itself as One.  And so I begin with The Cosmic Christ.

What is the Cosmic Christ?  Essentially the Cosmic Christ is Cosmic Love, One whose Being is Love of a Cosmic frequency and whose purpose it is to be an intermediary of Divine Love to all the star groups and solar systems within the Cosmic Logos.  He is the Heart center of the Deity whom we call the ”One About

Whom Naught May Be Said.”  This Being embraces the Great Bear, the Sirius System, and the Pleiades, Orion and all the great stars of the twelve zodiacal constellations. This includes more than 20,000 solar systems. And since we could certainly imagine a Cosmic Christ who corresponds to the Galactic Heart center and beyond, we use the term “Cosmic Christ” for all the Christ levels beyond the Christ Being of a Solar Logos.

This quality of Christ Love can be described as sacrifice…as God manifesting Him/Herself in the world of matter in order to bring into all beings a deep experience and expression of Divine Love and a redemption from form.  A.A.B. states in “From Bethlehem to Calvary” pg.67-68, “First matter dominant, enthroned and triumphant.  Then matter, the custodian of hidden Divinity, beauty, and reality, ready to bring them to birth.  Finally matter as the servant of that which has been born, the Christ.  However, none of this is brought about unless the journey is made from Nazareth, the place of consecration and from Galilee, the place of the daily round of life; and this is true, whether one is speaking of the Cosmic Christ, hidden by the form of a solar system; of the mythic Christ, hidden in humanity down the ages; of the historical Christ, concealed within the form of Jesus; or of the individual Christ, hidden within ordinary man.  For always the routine is the same—the journey, new birth, the experience of life, the service to be rendered, the death to be endured, and then the resurrection into more extended service.”

Later, on pg. 176, A.A.B. states that… “one of the first things that it seems essential to recognise is the fact, the definite fact, that Christ's Crucifixion must be lifted out of the realm of its purely individual application, into the realm of the universal and the whole. It may perhaps cause some consternation when we emphasise the necessity of realising that the death of the historical Christ upon the Cross was not primarily concerned with each individual man who claims to profit by it. It was a great cosmic event.”

We have seen that Christ must be recognised, first of all, in the cosmic sense. The Cosmic Christ has existed from all eternity. This Cosmic Christ is Divinity, or Spirit, crucified in space. He personifies the immolation or sacrifice of Spirit upon the cross of matter, of form or substance, in order that all divine forms, including the human, may live. This has ever been recognised by the so-called pagan faiths. If the symbolism of the cross is traced far back, it will be found that it antedates Christianity by thousands of years, and that finally, the four arms of the cross will be seen to drop away, leaving only the picture of the living Heavenly Man, with His arms outspread in space. North, south, east and west stands the Cosmic Christ upon what is called "the fixed cross of the heavens." Upon this cross God is eternally crucified.

"The sky is mystically spoken of as the Temple and the eternal consciousness of God. Its altar is the sun, whose four arms or rays typify the four corners or the cardinal cross of the universe, which have become the four fixed signs of the Zodiac, and as the four powerful sacred animal signs, are both cosmic and spiritual.... These four are known as the consecrated animals of the Zodiac, while the signs themselves represent the basic fundamental elements of life, Fire, Earth, Air and Water."6

And on pgs.182-183 she offers, “These four signs are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, and they constitute pre-eminently the cross of the Soul, the cross upon which the second Person of the divine Trinity is crucified. Christ personified in His mission these four aspects, and as the Cosmic Christ He exemplified in His Person the qualities for which each sign stood. Even primitive man, unevolved and ignorant, was aware of the significance of the cosmic Spirit, immolated in matter and crucified upon the four-armed cross. These four signs are to be found unequivocally in the Bible, and are regarded in Christian belief as the four sacred animals. The Prophet Ezekiel refers to them in the words:

"As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side; and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle."7

And again in the Book of Revelations, we find the same astrological symbology:

"And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes, before and behind.

"And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast was like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle."8

The "face of the man" is the ancient sign of Aquarius, the sign of the man carrying the water-pot, to which Christ referred when He sent His disciples into the city, saying: "Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in."9 This is the zodiacal sign into which we are entering. It might be as well to point out that this is astronomically true and not simply a pronouncement of the astrologers. The symbol which stands for the zodiacal sign Leo, is the Lion. This sign is the symbol of individuality, and under its influence the race arrives at self-consciousness and men can function as individuals. Christ, in His teaching, emphasised the significance of the individual and in His life demonstrated the supreme value of the individual, his perfecting, his service and his ultimate sacrifice in the interests of the whole. The constellation Aquila is always regarded as interchangeable with the sign Scorpio, the serpent, and it is therefore frequently used in this connection when considering the fixed cross of the cosmic Saviour. Scorpio is the serpent of illusion from which the Christ nature finally frees us, and it is to the illusory wiles of this serpent Scorpio that Adam succumbed in the garden of Eden. The "face of the ox" is the biblical symbol for the sign Taurus, the Bull, which was the religion immediately antedating the Jewish revelation, and which found its exponents in Egypt and in the Mithraic Mysteries. Upon this fixed cross all the world Saviours, not excepting the Christ of the West, have been eternally crucified, as reminders to man of the divine intent based upon the divine sacrifice.”

And, we have the The Old Commentary, “Upon the golden triangle, The Cosmic Christ appeared.  His head in Gemini; one foot upon the field of the Seven Fathers(the Great Bear) and the other planted in the field of the Seven Mothers (the Pleiades).  Thus for aeons, the Great One stood, His consciousness aware of three but not of four.  Intent, with suddenness, He heard a sound go forth…arousing to that cry, he stretched Himself, reached forth both arms in understanding Love, and so, the Cross was formed.”  EA p.348-349  This relationship between the Cosmic Christ and Gemini is worth exploring…the Earth is the hierarchicial ruler of Gemini and Venus is the esoteric ruler of Gemini.  Venus is the higher, Soul aspect of Earth, ever leading us to Love.  This triangular relationship when looked at within the Formula V puts Venus as the Sun and Earth as Black..the 2nd Ray energy of Gemini itself as the Antahkarana.  As the 2nd Ray of Love/Wisdom pours through Gemini, the Soul aspect which is Venus can uplift and redeem the Earth, awakening the Hearts of Humanity, merging Soul with form and simultaneously dissolving the illusion of separation and duality which exists within theTwins.

And, the a relationship between Sirius and Venus and between Sirius and Gemini is forthcoming as part of this neverending tapestry I am seeking to weave here.

After the Christ manifested in form on Earth, the door between the higher dimensions, Heaven, and the denser matter, Earth, stood wide open, bringing Spirit into the very core of the Earth…indwelling. The four kingdoms of nature, the mineral, plant, animal and human kingdoms are the living symbols of Spirit stretched across the Cross of Matter, in order to eventually make possible the appearance of the Kingdom of God on Earth. This is about sacredization of matter.  As Christ said, “I, if I be lifted up from the Earth, will draw all men unto Me.”  And all the kingdoms of this Earth will eventually also render up their life in willing sacrifice to the Glory of God.  This is the Resurrection…the Life more abundant…the “entering into the Joy of the Lord” which is our Divine birthright. This is as Teilhard de Chardin taught, “the world itself is being transubstantiated into Christ.”

The Cosmic Christ is the Word.  John the Revelator in his vision on the Isle of Patmos, describes his experience of the Cosmic Christ as “I saw heaven opened…His eyes were as a flame of fire…and His name is called The Word of God.”  In his Gospel he describes the Word…”In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made.”

Origen says, “The Word of God, showing the greatness of the knowledge of the Father that it is comprehended and known in its full extent and primarily by Him only, but in a secondary sense by those who have their reason enlightened by Him who is Word and God, says, No one knoweth the Son, for no one can know him who is uncreated, and begotten before every created nature in its full extent, so well as the Father who begot him; nor can anyone now the Father so well as the animate Word, who is His Wisdom and Truth.”

In Revelation 21:6 John repeats Christ’s statement that He was at the very beginning of manifestation, “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.”

Isaiah in the Old Testament makes a statement which is applicable to the Cosmic Christ…”Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of Hosts.  I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

And Origen again calls the Cosmic Christ, “the vapor of the power of God, and pure efflux of the glory of the Almighty, the effulgence of eternal light, and unspotted mirror of the energy of God.

Max Heindel makes a distinction between the Planetary/historical Christ and the Cosmic Christ when he says, “Grand and glorious as is the Christ, towering high above mere human nature, He is not this Exalted Being.  Truly, ‘the Word was made flesh,’ but not in the limited sense of the flesh of one body, but the flesh of all that is, in this and millions of other solar systems.“  And I note that in  meditation on the Cosmic Christ, I received the “W” icon for “Word” on the computer…he is The Word!

Matthew Fox in his book, “The Coming of the Cosmic Christ” calls the “second coming” a deeper infusion of Christ, coming from a higher Cosmic frequency.  He suggests that the Cosmic Christ is the Aquarian Christ and is manifested as a “paradigm shift”.  He quotes Thomas Kuhn’s book, “The Structure of Scientific Revolutions.”  Kuhn says, “A paradigm is a worldview or vision and is a community issue.”  He explains that the first stage of a paradigm shift is an “awakening to new questions” which precipitates “breakthrough”.  The second step in a paradigm shift is a crisis or breakdown….old paradigm destruction so a new paradigm can emerge.  He states that reeducation is required during a paradigm shift, and a “redefinition of the corresponding science.”  Resistance and denial will accompany a paradigm shift.  To reject the old paradigm is to embrace the incoming.  Surrender must be a “freely chosen decision.”  When scientific and spiritual shifts occur simultaneously a new civilization, a new “Soul” is born…new wineskins for new wine.  The Age of Aquarius is upon us and the words from Revelation 21:1.3-6 resonate with the essence of the Cosmic Christ, “Then I saw a new heaven and new earth; the first heaven and the first earth had disappeared now…Here God lives among people.  God will be at home among them; they shall be God’s people and God will be their God whose name is God-with-them.  God will wipe away all tears from their eyes, there will be no more death, and no more mourning or sadness.  The world of the past has gone.  Then the One sitting on the throne spoke:  Now I am making the whole of creation new…I will give water from the well of Life, free to all who are thirsty.”

Fox speaks of the transfiguration, the crucifixion and the resurrection of the Earth.  He says “the Kingdom of God is the transfiguration of the world, universal resurrection, a new heaven and a new earth.  This is planetary salvation, cosmic salvation, not personal salvation…this is the paradigm shift, suggesting planetary initiation.  And AAB in “From Bethlehem to Calvary” pg. 210,  quotes  “Any reflection that can infallibly break the walls of the Self, opens up at once an infinite Worldfield. Set a second to my One, and I have given all the numbers.”  AAB goes on to say, “The citizen of the Kingdom of God is world-conscious and God-conscious.  His lines of contact are clearly delineated in both directions: he is interested not in himself, but in God and his fellowmen, and his duty to God is worked out through the love he feels and shows for those around him. He knows no barriers and recognises no divisions; he is living—as a soul—in every aspect of his nature, through his mind and his emotions, and on the physical plane of life. He works through love and in love; and because of the love of God.”  Thus manifesting the vision from 2 Corinthians, 3:18, “And we, with our unveiled faces reflecting like mirrors the Glory of the Lord, all grow brighter and brighter as we are turned into the Image that we reflect.”

And Sirius is part of this Mystery.

 M. Temple Richmond in her book, “Sirius” says, “Sirius is undoubtedly one of the prime agents for the advancement of consciousness evolution in the known universe of which we are a part.”  Since this is a huge topic, a tapestry unto Itself, I will limit my discussion here to basics and what aspects of Sirius apply to my specific questions.

Sirius is, basically, a fixed star, the brightest in our heavens and is a binary star, having a white dwarf companion star, a solar moon orbiting it.  It is is 8.7 light-years away from us.  It is destined to become a black hole because of its mass.

It has been called the star of Mercury or Budha, the great instructor of mankind and so it is a Great Illuminator.  It is said that as the Soul is to the personality, Sirius is to our Sun…therefore it could be said to be the Soul of our Solar Logos.  This puts it in direct relationship then to the Cosmic Christ…Who is, in His Infinite Vastness, the Source of Love/Wisdom through all Souls, though all Hearts.

Sirius, as a transmitter of 2nd Ray, Love/Wisdom energies originating from the Cosmic Christ, is in triangular relationship with The Great Bear who transmits 1st Ray energies and The Pleiades which transmits 3rd Ray energies.  The Golden Triangle mentioned earlier from The Old Commentary does not mention Sirius, but a relationship does exist between Sirius, Gemini and Venus.  Firstly, the Tibetan speaks, in EA, pg. 348 about a cosmic triangle existing between Gemini, The Great Bear and the Pleiades.  He calls this the triangle of the Cosmic Christ and says it is the esoteric symbol lying behind the Cosmic Cross.  Ray 2, the Ray of Love/Wisdom pours through Sirius from that Great Illuminator to Gemini…a point of entrance and the head of this Cosmic Cross, thus illustrating the occult truth that Love underlies the entire universe.  “God is Love” says the Tibetan, “and this is an exoteric and esoteric truth.”

Master D.K. also states in EA pg.513, “that the triangle composed of Sirius, the Pleiades, and our Solar system is analogous in some manner to the one formed by the Venus scheme, the Earth scheme, and the Venus chain of the Earth scheme.”  As stated before, Venus functions as the Earth’s higher Self/Mind and in both of these triangular formations, a Higher Self/Mind is coming into incarnation. We can see Sirius as the Higher Self/Mind, the Pleiades as the lower mind and our Solar System as the Personality. Our Earth and our Solar System and their relation to the pathway to Sirius is but a small part in the evolution of a Greater Life, but we can surmise that our small piece relates to the principle of freedom…the freedom of Spirit to enter into form and then ultimately the liberation of consciousness from form.  Sirius influences this Solar system and Earth more than any other celestial body.  M. Temple Richmond elucidates its role in bringing forth the great Mystery traditions of this planet, midwiving then the birth of greater consciousness in the Human Kingdom. Sirius has also been the source of the establishment of the spiritual Hierarchy on this planet, the implementor of the great Laws of Karma and Periodicity, and of course, is the source of Love/Wisdom.  This is why Blavatsky, in “The Secret Doctine, Volume II, pg. 29, referred to Sirius “as before other Buddhas” or first among the liberators of consciousness, since liberation of consciousness is the function of a Buddha.   Down here where most of us live, this can translate as the livingness of  “isolated unity”, that is the ability to experience Oneness and radiate it,  while still operating under conditions of separation…while still in form.  We draw on the energies of Sirius to do this.

The liberation of consciousness, the idea of living in “isolated unity” does resonate with the Third Initiation.  “At the third initiation of Transfiguration, the control of the personality in the three worlds is broken in order that the Son of Mind, the Soul, may be substituted finally for the concrete and hitherto directing lower mind.  Again, through the Law of Sacrifice, the personality is liberated and becomes simply an agent of the Soul.  The procedure carried forward under the impulse of the Law of Sacrifice, “destroys all hindrances, breaks down all impediments and removes all individual obstacles, thus releasing the initiate into that vortex of force in which he learns the method of handling the planetary correspondences of that which he has individually overcome. DINA II pg. 398-399  At a certain point of evolution, the individual seeks only to align with the Will of God, to attune inwardly, to receive orders and be the instrument for That which is seeking expression through him.  “After the third initiation, the “Way” is carried forward with great rapidity, and the “bridge” is finished which links perfectly the higher spiritual Triad and the lower material reflection.  The three worlds of the soul and the worlds of the personality become one world wherein the initiate works and functions, seeing no distinction, viewing one world as the world of inspiration and the other world as constituting the field of service, yet regarding both together as forming one world of activity. EPII, pg 70

And, in EP II, pg. 26-27, the Tibetan says, “ These three words---individualization, initiation and identification, cover the whole process of man’s career from the time he emerges into the human kingdom till he passes out of it at the third initiation, and functions freely in the fifth kingdom, the Kingdom of God.  By that time, he has learnt that consciousness is free and unlimited, and can function in form or out of form according to the behest of the soul, or as the Plan can best be served.  The soul is then in no way conditioned by form.  Just as man can express himself in what is called three-dimensional living, so, by the time he takes the third initiation, he can function actively and consciously in four dimensions, and in the final stages of the Path of Initiation he becomes active fifth-dimensionally.”

And, “Intuition is the synthetic understanding which is the prerogative of the soul and it only becomes possible when the soul, on its own level, is reaching in two directions: toward the Monad and towards the integrated and, perhaps (even if only temporarily) coordinated and at-oned personality.   It is the first indication of a deeply subjective unification which will find its consummation at the third initiation. GWP, pg. 2-3

And in R&I pg.316, “When the third initiation is taken the initiate becomes aware, not only of the significance of the command to Know and of his innate ability to express the will nature of the Monad in carrying of the Purpose of Shamballa, but that (through his fused personality-soul) he is now in a position to “make revelation” to the Hierarchy that he is in rapport with the monadic source from which he originally came.  He can now obey the command to Reveal, because the transfiguration is consummated.  He is not now revealing the soul only, but all the three aspects now meet in him and he can reveal the life aspect as will, and not only the soul aspect as love, or the matter aspect as intelligence.  This is, as you know, the first major initiation from the angle of the greater Lodge on Sirius, because is the first initiation in which all three aspects meet in the initiate.

Teilhard de Chardin, offers this expanding insight, “The cosmos is fundamentally and primarily living, Christ is internal to the World, rooted in the World, even in the very heart of the tiniest atom….nothing seems more vital, from the point of human energy, than the appearance and eventually, the systematic cultivation of such a “cosmic sense.”  This “cosmic sense” is a way to open and broaden our horizons, to expand our ring-pass-nots,  to “lead us from the individual to the Universal,”  to give us the vision to “reach up” to greater Light, as far as the Cosmic Christ even, so that we might bring it back down into the three worlds to sacredize matter and embody the Christ.  We seek to have spiritual vision and true perception.  This what Patanjali describes as “opening the world of the intuitional or buddhic plane, taking the possessor beyond the abstract levels of the mental plane to realize the things of Pure Spirit and the basic Purposes underlying all manifestations.  Then we work because we have “seen” and can thus dissolve the gap between what is and what will be and become creators of the Glory.

As this world grows smaller through technology and yet expands into the cosmos and inner depths via the same, we can see deeply into the tiniest atom and observe the release of its imprisoned central spark and contemplate distant black holes which beckon us to worlds unknown and still, in one instant of Pure Reality all this collapses unto itself into the One which contains the All, the Great Mystery. It would seem that Humanity and Earth herself are an Antahkarana in this wider and deeper Cosmic Mystery, bridging between the Outer and Inner worlds and eventually living as One.  Pondering this suggests even deeper Mystery still.
