PEACE

The Spirit of Peace will, when the right time comes, vitalise the responsiveness of humanity, via the influence of the Hierarchy, to the will of God which has for basic intent the bringing of peace on earth. What is peace? It is essentially the establishing of right human relations, of synthetic rapport with its resultant cooperation, of correct interplay between the three planetary centres and an illumined, loving understanding of the will of God as it affects humanity and works out divine intent. EXH 161

What is Peace?
What is this illusive fourth quality of deity that lies behind the three revealed qualities of will, love, activity? How can one become a channel for this synthetic energy except through identification with it?
Perhaps it is useful to point out what it is not.
Firstly and most significantly it is not emotional tranquility or serenity although this may be a consequence of the identification of consciousness with ‘peace’. If peace were dependent upon emotion then it would not be a separate quality.. It is not mental calm nor physical well being – peace exists behind the three worlds. It cannot be disturbed by anything that occurs in the three worlds at all. It is a quality that permeates the three worlds and is ever present and yet mostly unrecognized in creation. When idenitification with all lesser activity disappears then peace is revealed to be present – ever present. Thus it cannot be achieved by any action in the three worlds. Action in the three worlds can lead through right use of balancing polarity to its revelation but action cannot create or discreate peace. All action – whether thought emotion or activity can only create the circumstances in which the peace that already exists can be recognized. Therefore a yogi acts in the three worlds – not to achieve anything but to counter or balance those actions which cloud the perception of what already exists.

Identity becomes ensnared in the three worlds by the idea – the illusion that there is something wrong – ie that peace does not exist. Then the identity decides to take action to restore peace according to its perception of what is missing. The problem is really to do with the initial illusion and therefore any actions taken from that place cannot restore peace because it was never not present in the first place. Therefore all actions in the three worlds can be discriminated according to whether or not peace is present in the consciousness instigating the action. Peace is always present at the beginning, during and at the end of all action but it may not be present in consciousness. Therefore it is only at a certain stage of the path that the statement by the Christ begins to have real meaning “My peace I give unto you” This is the peace that emanates from Shamballa, the ‘peace which passeth understanding’ and is the possession of all free souls. Souls identified with anything in the three worlds are separated from this peace to the extent of their misidentification. This misidentification – the decision by the soul that ‘something is wrong’ is the cause of karma. The ‘something is wrong’ has to do with the previous actions of the soul in incarnation and it is now taking steps to balance the karma .

Therefore no activity in the three worlds – no thought, emotion or action is inherently ‘right’ or ‘wrong’. It is merely taken from a place of peace or not. If it is it must lead ( eventually ) to a greater infusion of the reality of peace within the consciousness of the three worlds. If it is not it inevitably leads to karmic consequences..
Thus the first distinction has to do with the conscious identity taking any action.
If it is not ‘in the realization of peace’ at the beginning of the action it is either creating new karma or working off karma. When it is free from karma any action is ‘free’- in other words it is undertaken under the law of freedom.

The second distinction has to do with the results of action . Action taken from a place of peace realization is inherently ‘disinterested’ or detached from results. It is peace acting and therefore is inherently ‘peaceful’. Action taken from misidentification with the content of the three worlds will tend to wards the creation of circumstances where peace can be realized if it is action to balance karma or tend towards the creation of circumstances which make the realization of peace more difficult if it is creating new karma.
In either case action will meet with support and resistance within the three worlds.
Let us consider the three sources of action and the resulting support and reisistance.

The source of action is inherently peaceful. It will meet with support from those identifications within the three worlds that are already peace sourced or trying to move towards peace. It will meet with active resistance from those identifications which are seeking to preserve the conditions where peace is not present in realization.

The source of action is inherently misidentified and karma producing. The support and resistance will be the reverse of above. Collaboration will come from those sources allied with the production of karma and therefore the delay of destiny.

The source of action is karma balancing. This situation is less clear resulting in the difficulties of the life of discipleship. Some resistance will be solarised and some not solarised as with support. The disciple here must develop discrimination.

It can be seen from the above that the most difficult position for the disciple and for the world comes about when the consciousness taking action believes itself to be acting from a place of peace , or more likely from a place of karma balancing and yet is in fact coming from a place of karma creation. This occurs most frequently on the path for the following reason. The disciple on the mental plane is learning to distinguish between ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ and therefore labels some thoughts, emotions and actions positive and others negative. He attempts to identify with the ‘positive’ and battle the negative thus in his own mind siding with the forces of light and against the forces of darkness or the black lodge. He attempts then to impose his ‘idea’ of what is right or wrong upon himself and others in the name of evolution and the forces of the soul. This will eventually fail because it is not peaceful and in reality has naught to do with Hierarchy and only the perception of Hierarchy.

The forces of light do not support any thought feeling or action as ‘inherently’ right or wrong. This includes world ideologies and philosophies. The distinction they make is the following “ Will this activity ( and thought is an activity ) produce conditions that tend towards the realization of Peace and therefore planetary purpose or not?”
They deal in the three worlds with the balancing of polarities and not with the attempt to dominate one polarity by the other except as it might serve the long term development of the planet. Communism and capitalism are planetary thoughtforms as is the idea of brotherhood or the right of free speech. These thoughtforms are evolutionary to the extent that they guide the consciousness conditioned by these thoughtforms towards a greater realization of peace and not because they are inherently better or worse as ‘forms’.

Prior to the fourth degree all are acting as grey magicians which means that their motivations springing from their core identifications are mixed. At the fourth degree the identification shifts in orientation to the monad and from thereon becomes ‘spiritual’ in the dualistic spirit/matter sense. Freedom from identification with matter is achieved gradually up until the third degree and accelerates between the third and fourth. Prior to the third degree identity is heavily invested in the three worlds and therefore not peaceful. No action taken from this misidentification could be said to be ‘spiritual’ in the dualistic sense because the entity taking it is largely material in consciousness. Do you see this? It is at the third degree that the disciple comes face to face with the Dweller and realized that he inherently IS the Dweller – that he IS the idenity trapped within the three worlds resisting peace in the name of peace as well as being the free soul. Owning this identification he is freed from it. Prior to this he is trapped by it precisely because, although he has created it and gives it life he is in denial of his creation. It is the sum total or residue of all unredeemed karmic creating action gathered together for a final confrontation with the soul. It has no inherent ‘self identity’ except that which the disciple has given it by denying his own creation and thereby separating off himself from himself.

Let me explain how this works. Matter – all matter in the three worlds has no inherent self identity. It does have intelligence but this intelligence is not ‘self referring’ or self conscious. Self consciousness is a quality bestowed by the incarnating soul. When that soul has taken action in the three worlds that is karma producing and then denied taking that action or defended that action as being peaceful or karma balancing then it separates a piece of its identity thus bestowing it upon the habitual complex of thought, emotion and actions that becomes the Dweller. This separated identity, denied access to the self that created it then must rely for its survival, not on its creator but by drawing its vitality and life from the three worlds. In particular it draws upon that peculiar life energy left over from the earlier system which we call ‘lunar’. It becomes vampiric. We might thus describe the Dweller on all levels, human, planetary and cosmic as that self consciousness in the system which has become separated from its source and is then dependent for its separated existence by feeding – not upon the life of the monad via the soul – but upon the life energy inherent within matter from previous spiritual activity.

The problem therefore is that self consciousness, a quality of the soul has become misidentified with and now dependent upon matter. This self can be regained or reconnected in three ways by the incarnating soul itself once it realises that it is causal in the problem. It can be regained through karmic activity – balancing the karma producing actions set in motion by the Dweller which it is responsible for. It can be regained through love – the reaching out in a redemptive act by the soul to reclaim that which it had denied. It can be reclaimed through will by simply abstracting the separated identity from the Dweller back into the soul field. The primary method used will depend upon the ray of the monad and whatever method is used all three actions must eventually result for the at-onement to be complete.
When the soul, through contact with the monad draws out the essential life energy or kundalini from within the form then it will meet the full resistance of the Dweller because the Dweller is dependent upon this lower life energy for its very existence and must therefore turn once again to the soul as its source of life. Thus at the third degree the will is required.

It could be said that the first degree initiate wants action – he wants to produce results upon the physical plane that reflect the thoughtforms he is creating on the mental. He must eventually become the action he seeks.
The second degree initiate wants love – he wants to be loved and wants to see love in the world. He must become the love he seeks by drawing buddhi into the emotional field.
The third degree initiate wants will. He must become the source of will on the mental plane through reaching into the plane of atma and expressing that energy.
The fourth degree initiate wants peace and therefore must become an expression of that peace. The peace he seeks is not to be sourced within the planes of the triad nor the three worlds. It must be sourced from the monadic plane and expressed upon the buddhic. To build a vehicle for that expression he must release all identification with the three worlds including his causal body.
The fifth degree initiate wants life. He must become that life by reaching through to the logoic plane and expressing that life as will upon the atmic plane.
The sixth degree initiate wants that which lies outside the seven planes altogether. He wants cosmic desire. He must become that and express it upon the monadic plane as purpose thus building the bridge between cosmic planes.
The seventh degree initiate wants cosmic mind expressed on the logoic plane. He must reach towards the cosmic mental plane and hold the antahkarana open to the causal body of the Logos.
At the eight degree cosmic buddhi is the source sought. This is the intiation that the fifth Hierarchy ruled by Cancer are in the process of taking.

With the coming in of the fourth ray in 2025 the alignment between the fifth Hierarchy taking the eight initiation and the fourth ( ninth ) of human hierarchy taking the fourth initiation on the buddhic plane will become increasingly important creating a living conduit for the energy of cosmic peace to express itself on the physical plane of the system. The placement of earth as the fourth globe in the fourth chain in the fourth round means that this process – the revelation of peace, the fourth quality of deity – on earth has much wider consequences than humanity is preoccupied with.
