Shamballa School was founded by Bruce Lyon in 2000 as a residential esoteric school at Highden Manor in New Zealand. That phase of the work ran until 2004, when Shamballa School transitioned to become an international spiritual community. Today, Shamballa School's community is made up over 750 people.
Shamballa School is community dedicated to Spirit. Spirit is ever alive and vibrating as the wild, divine life-force at the core of every being, in their heart, body and soul. It is the ecstatic presence of the One, found at the core of both consciousness and matter. Other names for this Life principle are the Shamballa Force, the monad, the dark light, electric fire, or causal spirit. To symbolise this energy, we use the supermassive black hole at the core of our galaxy. Other symbols from the natural world are lightning or the eruption of a volcano.
Shamballa School is a field of training for working with this energy. Accessing it brings an electric current of pure life, power and self-realisation as the One. As this energy descends through our souls, rises from our bodies, and thunders through our heart, these currents act like a defibrillator on the soul that can electrify our emergence as awakened and embodied beings of love, freedom and dynamic purpose.
The core focus of Shamballa School is bringing together beings who want to go deeper in working with this raw, wild presence of the One, so as to build a reservoir of power and freedom in service of humanity and the earth. As such, Shamballa School is not primarily focussed on expanding people’s consciousness or developing their embodiment, though these have their place in supporting our pathway into accessing the life principle and are often natural by-products of working with it. No matter what your background, if you are called to amplify this living vibration in the core of your being, you’re welcome.
This life-force of Spirit is qualified by divine power, purpose and will. On an individual level, this is the indestructible essence of every being. On the planetary level, Shamballa is the name given to the reservoir of Life where the cosmic purpose of the Earth, which drives the evolution of all consciousness and matter on the planet, is held.
On the global scene, Shamballa School holds a dual citizenship.
One side of this citizenship is found in it being a third phase expression of the Trans-Himalayan teachings (for an introduction to these teachings, click here), tracing it’s lineage back through the pioneering work of such individuals as Bruce Lyon, Alice A. Bailey, Helena Roerich, Lucille Cedercrans, Rudolf Steiner, Francia Le Due, and Helena Blavatsky. In this aspect, it is rooted in a continually unfolding transmission of planetary Purpose from Shamballa through Hierarchy, the community of liberated Bodhisattvas and Masters on the inner planes who collectively embody the planetary heart chakra, to Humanity.
The second side is anchored in the emerging universal spirituality, and in recognition that there is really only one tradition that is our cosmic awakening, one tribe of all humanity, and one fire that is Life.
